Extraordinary Gazette declares several essential services

An Extraordinary Gazette notification has been issued declaring Ports, Customs, Petroleum, Public transportation – rail and bus, Central Bank, State Banks and insurance, all Divisional Secretariat offices, Grama Sevaka officers, field officers and local government institutions as essential services.

The Gazette bearing the number 2229/8 and dated 27 May was issued by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa as part of overall efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
