The first 20 days of June have drawn 61,183 tourists, increasing the year to date figure to 585,669.

Industry sources noted that the arrivals figure is satisfactory given the fact that June too is part of the industry’s off-season.

Indians followed by Russians, Britons, Aussies and Chinese figured in the top five markets in June so far. With over 100,000 arrivals in the first four months of 2023, May’s figure dipped to 83,310.

The brisk inflow in January to April and satisfactory arrivals since then has kept tourism afloat. The 2023 year to date figure of 585,669 accounts for 81.3% of 2022 full year total of 720,000 tourist arrivals.
