Foreigners buy Rs. 20 b worth Govt. securities

Foreign holdings of the Government Securities have increased from Rs. 130 billion to Rs. 150 billion during the week ending 19 May according to charts.lk.

It said higher domestic interest rates while stabilising exchange rates and the expectation of steep downward revision of inflation compared to peer countries could have promoted foreigners to move back into investment in Govt. securities.
