France President Emmanuel Macron
President of France Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to arrive in the country today (28), Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed.
This visit marks the first time a French President has visited Sri Lanka, underscoring the growing importance of bilateral ties between the two nations.
During his visit, President Macron will meet with his Sri Lankan counterpart, President Ranil Wickremesinghe, for crucial discussions on strengthening bilateral relations in the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Sri Lanka. The discussion will also focus on an exchange of views on global, economic and political affairs.
President Macron will be accompanied by French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna and a high–level delegation comprising senior officials of the French Government. French President’s visit to Sri Lanka is following the visit to the South Pacific region.
The French President’s presence in Sri Lanka not only marks a milestone in bilateral relations but also presents an opportunity to explore new avenues of partnership, forging a path towards a more prosperous and secure future for both countries.
