The Cabinet of Ministers has cleared to issue soft liquor licenses to all establishments registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
Taking to Twitter, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando noted that the move will help promote tourism and boost earnings, whilst thanking Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
“Cabinet approved the paper to issue soft liquor licenses to all establishments registered with @sltda_srilanka this will help promote tourism and bring foreign revenue for the country as well as all tourism stakeholders. Big win for tourism in Sri Lanka. Thank you @RW_UNP,” he tweeted.
However, the decision was not included in the official Cabinet Decisions document shared by the Government Information Department.
