The Cabinet of Ministers, at its meeting on Monday, agreed on awarding the contracts to supply Octane 92 petrol for four months from Singapore’s Vitol Asia following competitive bids.
The move follows bids called from registered suppliers of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) for the long-term contract to import 92 Unl octane petrol for four months from 21 September 2023 to 21 January 2024 and four companies have submitted bids.
Accordingly, the proposal tabled by Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera to award the relevant contract for M/s Vitol Asia (Singapore) Ltd., as recommended by the Special Standard Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Monday.
