The Cabinet of Ministers, at its meeting on Monday, agreed on awarding the contract to supply four shipments of diesel, starting 1 August, to China’s Zhongxi Energy Development following competitive bids.
The move follows bids called from registered suppliers of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
The Government said bids called from the registered suppliers of CPC for the long-term contract to import four shipments of 280,000 + / - 5% of diesel (0.05% M. S.) to M/s Zhongxi Energy Development (Ningbo) Co. Ltd., China from 1 August 2024 to 31 December 2024, as recommended by the Special Standard Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The proposal to this effect submitted by the Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
