The Government yesterday presented to Parliament details of Rs. 27.3 billion of supplementary allocation spent to cover expenses incurred between 1-31 December, including Rs. 80 million to meet the operational expenditure of the Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital.
The allocation for the hospital are for the months of November and December, according to details for the supplementary expenses, which are drawn from the “Supplementary Support Services and Contingent Liabilities Project” of the Treasury.
Around Rs. 18.1 billion went towards recurrent expenditure, while around Rs. 9 billion went towards capital expenditure.
The fund went towards paying enhanced salaries to State sector employees, as well as for overdue payments for various development activities.
