President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Thursday said if Sri Lanka wants to develop its international trade, the country has to think differently.

He said a decision has been made to establish an international trade office which will deal with all the international trade negotiations. It will initially function under the Finance Ministry and in the future under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

Wickremesinghe said to remove the red tape, the Government is looking at restructuring institutions as well as having a separate ministry which will deal with ease of doing business and competitiveness issues.
