Govt. reduces LP gas price by Rs. 138

The Government yesterday decided to reduce the price of the 12.5 kg cylinder of LPG domestic gas by Rs. 138 with immediate effect.

Consequently, the price of the 12.5 kg cylinder of LPG domestic gas would be reduced from Rs. 1,676 to Rs. 1,538.

Ministry of Industry and Commerce said the decision to reduce the price was taken following a recommendation made by the Cost of Living Committee on 26 June.

The Ministry’s Consumer Affairs Authority Chairman W. H. Tillekeratne warned that “anyone found selling over and above the specified price will be prosecuted”.
