Govt. to buy local eco-friendly fertilisers from 46 bidders for Yala season

Forty-six bidders will be awarded the contract to supply locally produced eco-friendly fertiliser for the 2022 Yala season.

Cabinet gave approval to a proposal by Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage to award the contract to the 46 bidders who were selected under the local competitive procurement system.

The Government said 600,000 hectares would be cultivated in the 2022 Yala season and Cabinet approval was given in January to procure locally produced eco-friendly fertilisers for use in this season.
