State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya yesterday said a Gazette notification will be issued to introduce HS Codes (customs codes) for 142 new items. Taking to twitter, he said the new HS codes will be introduced to facilitate and streamline imports and exports. “The new HS codes are effective from 1 January,” he added.
