The Government this week decided to recruit a suitable Auditor to conduct forensic audits recommended in the report submitted by the Presidential Commission on Inquiry to investigate and inquire into the issuance of Treasury Bonds.
The proposal made by Finance and Mass Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera to appoint a procurement committee to select an independent company was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers earlier this week.
The company selected will be required to carry out the forensic audits in accordance with the recommendations outlined in the report, the Government Information Department said.
