Indian business icon Ratan Tata no more

Ratan Tata, one of India’s most loved industrialists, died yesterday aged 86 after prolonged illness. 

He was in a critical condition and was under intensive care at a Mumbai hospital. Tata had said on Monday that he was undergoing routine medical investigations due to his age and related medical conditions.

In a statement, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran said: “It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation.”
