Inflation down to 33.6% in April

Inflation as per the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) declined to 33.6% year-on-year in April, after a 49.2% rise in March, according to the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS).

It said the food group inflation declined to 27.1% in April from 42.3% in March and non-food group inflation dipped to 39% in April from 54.9% in March.

The contribution of food commodities to inflation was 12.33% year on year in April and contribution of non-food items was 21.29%.
