Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Sri Lanka Hashem Ashjazadeh says that he will support the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, in the fields of trade and investment.
The Ambassador made these remarks when he called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday.
Iran expressed its interest in importing goods from Sri Lanka while exporting shipments of crude oil. During the discussion it is proposed that Sri Lanka may consider a barter system with Iran.
The President stated that the construction of the Uma Oya project with a capacity of 120 megawatts, which is in the final stage, is planned to be completed promptly and expressed his gratitude for the support given by Iran to strengthen the export economy.
