JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva yesterday alleged that President Ranil Wickremesinghe via the attacks on peaceful protesters in the early hours of Friday was only executing revenge on behalf of the ousted Rajapaksa regime.

“Wickremesinghe wasn’t elected by the people but by Rajapaksa. After the peaceful protesters via Aragalaya movement forced the exit of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and stepping down of Mahinda Rajapaksa as Prime Minister and Basil Rajapaksa as Finance Minister, they directly can’t take revenge but are doing so via Ranil Wickremesinghe,” Silva told journalists.
