Overall rate of inflation as measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) on a year-on-year basis was stated at 66.7% as against 58.9% in June.
The Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) said the increase in July was mainly due to higher price levels prevailing in both food and non-food groups.
It said the YoY inflation of the food group rose to 82.5% in July from 75.8% in June and the inflation of the non-food group increased to 52.4% from 43.6%.
The contribution of food commodities to inflation was 39.28% in July and non-food items contribution was 27.44%.
The moving average inflation in July was 25.9% up from 20.8% in June.
