LIOC launches Sri Lanka’s first-ever female-only operated ultra-modern filling station

The inauguration ceremony for the first-ever female-only operated filling station Lanka IOC Filling Station, which boasts central monitoring and full automation, took place recently and the venture is a collaborative effort between N.W. Logistics, a fully-owned subsidiary of the Ninewells Group, and Access Motors. 

The ceremony was attended by State Minister of Power and Energy D.V. Chanaka and Deputy High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, LIOC Managing Director Dipak Das and Access Group Chairman Sumal Perera.

This retail outlet is an extraordinary milestone in Sri Lanka’s history with several distinguishing features. It is the first filling station to be opened in the bustling heart of Colombo city limits in two decades and also this station will be 24x7 in operation.

The initiative is not merely about fuelling vehicles; it’s about fuelling empowerment, inclusivity, and breaking through the glass ceiling. It embodies the spirit of women empowerment and the transfer of professionalism into a previously male-centric job role.

This Lanka IOC filling station has also embraced cutting-edge technology to redefine the way, we fuel our journeys. What sets this station apart is not just its modern infrastructure, but a revolutionary system known as ‘No Print; No Delivery’ (NPND). This technology harnesses the power of automation, streamlining the entire transaction process to enhance efficiency and customer experience. 

The system which provides a printed receipt and an SMS notification directly to the customer, ensures that the next customer is served, only when the receipt for the previous transaction has been successfully delivered.

This retail outlet is not just a place to refuel; it’s a hub of convenience. This station is a one-stop destination for all vehicle needs, from absolute detailing to tire and wheel aligning services. 

Apart from six different products viz. LP 92, LP 95, Lanka Auto Diesel, Lanka Super Diesel, Extra Premium Euro 3 and Extra Mile Diesel, Servo Lubricants and Laugfs LP Gas cylinders are also available, along with a delightful cafeteria Café 9.
