Litro Gas Chief says company contributes Rs. 1.5 b dividend to Treasury

State-run Litro Gas Lanka, one of the prominent suppliers of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) gas has made a significant contribution of Rs. 1.5 billion to the Treasury. 

 The announcement was made by Litro Gas Lanka Chairman Muditha Peiris yesterday, who highlighted that the sum was given as dividends through its primary shareholder, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC).

 Peiris further explained that the funds would be handed over to the Treasury yesterday, marking a notable financial boost to the national exchequer. 

 In a statement, Peiris emphasised the company’s dedication to providing relief to consumers. “Litro Gas Lanka has already implemented several price reductions and intends to maintain a competitive price range in the future. The company is exploring various methods to achieve this goal while ensuring that consumers continue to benefit from affordable LPG prices,” he added.

 Litro Gas Lanka’s role as one of the leading LP gas suppliers in Sri Lanka has been vital in meeting the country’s energy needs. The company’s continuous efforts to improve efficiency and keep prices reasonable have earned them a significant position in the market.
