Maj. Gen. Vijitha Ravipriya appointed Customs DG

Retired Major General Vijitha Ravipriya has been appointed the Director General of the Sri Lanka Customs Department, the Finance, Economy and Policy Development Ministry revealed in a statement.

Major General Ravipriya, who was attached to the Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment during his time in the Army, held many command and staff appointments in his regiment and the army, including holding the office of Director General of Training at Army Headquarters, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Director Media and Military Spokesman, Director of Personal Administration and Director of Plans as well as a number of other key positions including overseas postings.

In his final role prior to retirement, he served as Commander of the Security Forces in Kilinochchi. Major General Ravipriya is a past pupil of Thurstan College, Colombo.
