Majority of Cabinet want to seek IMF assistance claims Gammanpila

Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila yesterday claimed majority view of the Cabinet of Ministers is to seek the assistance of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to overcome the foreign reserves and debt crisis.

“I advocated to go to the IMF for a long period,” he told journalists yesterday. Minister Gammanpila said the Finance Ministry and Central Bank must reach a final decision on the 

matter.
