Minister Amunugama to represent President at UNHRC session

Special Assignments Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama will leave for Geneva on 19 March to participate in the UN Human Rights Council sessions, representing the President.

The other members of the Sri Lanka delegation at these sessions are Minister of Foreign Affairs Tilak Marapana, Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Finance and Media Mano Tittawella, Attorney General’s Department Deputy Solicitor General Nerin Pulle, Advisor to the Prime Minister Prashanthi Mahindaratne, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Additional Secretary Asiz and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General Mahesha Colonne. In terms of resolution 34/1 of 23 March 2017, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights is required to present to the 37th session a written update on the implementation of resolution 30/1 on promoting reconciliation, accountability and human rights in Sri Lanka.
