NCPA to probe assault on Thariq Ahamed 

The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) has begun an investigation into the assault of an autistic child by Police at Aluthgama following numerous complaints on its hotline 1929. 

NCPA Chairman Prof. Muditha Vidanapathirana said the local child protection officer and the district psycho-social officer were instructed to visit the child’s house and begin an inquiry.

He also said they would write to the Acting IGP over the matter.
