Nahil donates Rs. 1 b to Lady Ridgeway Hospital Little Hearts Project

Little Hearts Project of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children yesterday revealed it has received a generous donation of Rs. 1 billion from senior business leader Nahil Wijesuriya.

The magnanimous support is through Agnes Wijesuriya Childrens’ and Elders’ Home.

Speaking of the donation, Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist Dr. Duminda Samarasinghe said, “These funds will be mainly utilised for installation of the already delayed air conditioning system of the Cardiac and Critical Care Complex at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital. With this donation by this great philanthropist, we should be able to complete the construction before the end of 2024 to commence patient care services.” 

He added, “We take this opportunity to thank Dinali B. Dandeniya of Rotary Club of Colombo Metropolitan and Rotary District 3220, Sri Lanka and Maldives, for mediating this donation and Nandike Samaranayake for his support and expertise in documentation.”
