Nationwide publicity drive on organic fertiliser

The Government has decided to launch a nationwide publicity drive to educate masses on the benefits of the production and use of organic fertiliser. 

The move is in line with the Government’s policy decision to utilise organic and natural fertiliser instead of chemical material for agriculture. 

“There is an urgent requirement of an awareness program to be launched for the farmers and cultivators and other parties to educate the true situation in the regard,” the Government said. 

The Cabinet of Ministers at their meeting this week approved the resolution submitted by Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage for implementing the awareness program across audio, visual, print, and digital media for educating the farming community, the youth, as well as other relevant parties.
