The Overall Combined Operational Command (OCOC) in Colombo, yesterday, said that the country’s day-to-day functions which were paralysed after a series of bombings on Easter Sunday, would bounce back to normal from today onwards.

OCOC and Security Forces – West Commander Maj. Gen. Sathyapriya Liyanage yesterday said that schools and State institutions would record their full attendance from today.
“People have faith in the Security Forces which carry out their search operations round the clock. We have assured their security and people have confidence in us,” he said, adding that there would be 100% school attendance from today.
Maj. Gen. Liyanage said the military would continue with its search operations while providing security to schools and other important State and private institutions. The Army was engaged in special cordon and search operations in the Kalutara, Kegalle, Puttalam, and Kurunegala districts on Saturday, and in the Colombo and Gampaha districts
yesterday.
Army sources said that they had taken in over 90 suspects during their search operations which commenced on 23 May in which over 3,000 security personnel were involved.
