PM, Speaker, MPs to visit affected in Kandy

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and A group of MPs are set to visit Kandy today to meet with victims of the violence targeting the Muslim community. As part of his inspection tour, the Prime Minister will visit Digana and Kengalla towns and meet affected people. 

He will also chair a meeting at THE Kandy District Secretary office.

The MPs team will be a representative of all political parties. They and the Speaker will first meet with the Chief Buddhist Prelates of the Malwatta and Asgiriya chapters. The team will then meet with Muslim religious and community leaders in the main mosque in Kandy, followed by a special discussion with Tamil religious and community leaders. 

The team will also discuss with the heads of the security forces deployed, and visit affected people in different parts of the district.
