Paris Club extends support for SL

State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe with Paris Club Co-Chairman William Roos

The Paris Club has extended its fullest support for Sri Lanka’s efforts to find an early resolution to its debt crisis, Finance Ministry said yesterday.

In a statement, it said that State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe met with the Paris Club Co-Chairman William Roos on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank annual meetings in Washington, D.C.

The assurance was extended by Roos following the brief meeting with the State Finance Minister Semasinghe and the Sri Lankan delegation.

“Roos assured the Paris Club’s fullest support for Sri Lanka’s ongoing efforts to find an early resolution to its debt crisis,” the Finance Ministry statement added.
