The Parliament will today debate the recently announced electricity tariff hike.
The move follows a motion brought by the Opposition and the adjournment debate will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on ‘The difficulties faced by the general public due to increase in the electricity tariff by a large proportion’.
Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa revealed last week that the SJB will voice its strongest protest against the tariff hike during the debate.
