Pleasant surprises for tourism in Budget

Tourism Development Minister John Amaratunga yesterday hinted that there will be some pleasant surprises for the tourism sector in the upcoming Budget 2018.

He also said the Tourism Vision 2025 and Strategic Plan 2020 will be implemented towards the end of November. According to him, major components of the vision and strategic plan will be approved with the upcoming Budget 2018, as many of the major components are included in that document. “There will be a lot of pleasant surprises like tax incentives that are included in our proposals, which is in the Tourism Vision 2025 and Strategic Plan 2020,” Amaratunga said.
