President Ranil Wickremesinghe earlier this week held a video conference with the China Export Import Bank Chairman Wu Fulin.
The Chinese Embassy in a tweet said the duo exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and Sri Lanka’s current debt issues.
“The two sides agreed to further strengthen exchanges and collaboration on the resolution of Sri Lanka’s debt issues, and help the island’s economic recovery and sustainable development,” it added.
Separately, Chinese Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires Hu Wei met with Foreign Secretary Aruni A. Wijewardane and had a fruitful discussion on Sri Lanka-China financial cooperation, tourism promotion, foreign ministries exchanges and other topics of mutual interest.
