President Gotabaya Rajapaksa dropped by Parliament yesterday, staying less than 10 minutes in the Chamber before heading out.

SJB MPs who carried placards and banners inside the Chamber on Wednesday calling for the President’s resignation showed little reaction to his presence in the House although Government MPs welcomed him with some fervour.

Police had cordoned off all roads leading up to Parliament from early yesterday morning ahead of the President’s arrival at the Parliament complex.
