President meets UN Secretary General

President Ranil Wickremesinghe held discussions with the UN Secretary General António Guterres on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, the Secretary General expressed solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka in addressing economic challenges.

President Wickremesinghe and the Secretary General discussed domestic issues including the economic situation.

The Secretary General offered the UN’s continued support to Sri Lanka’s reconciliation efforts and to advocate for a better international financial architecture.
