  • Stresses he is committed to fulfilling his promise of combating corruption
  • Claims he is yet to make any decision on his political future

Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe, addressing the media yesterday regarding his dismissal by President Wickremesinghe, said he plans to carry his anti-corruption crusade into the upcoming Presidential election.

Ranasinghe expressed his view that a ‘group of thieves’ have emerged victorious with his removal, but he remains committed to fulfilling his promise of combating corruption, whether in his role as a Minister or during the forthcoming Presidential election.

He emphasised his commitment to endorsing positive initiatives and clarified that he has not made any political decision yet.

The former Minister asserted that his dismissal was a consequence of his efforts to combat theft and corruption, maintaining that he did not conform blindly to leadership merely to secure his ministerial position.
