President Ranil Wickrem-esinghe during a meeting with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has discussed launching the Starlink satellite internet service in Sri Lanka.
Wickremesinghe who is on a two-day official visit to Bali, Indonesia met Musk on the sidelines of the 10th World Water Forum high-level meeting. The President’s Media Division said that Wickrem-esinghe expressed commitment to fast-track the application process to connect Sri Lanka with the global Starlink network. “We had a fruitful discussion on a variety of interesting topics. Starlink’s expansion could be particularly transformative for countries like Sri Lanka, providing a lifeline to essential services and information,” President noted yesterday via a post on ‘X’.
