Religious leaders urge people not to resort to violence

Religious leaders yesterday urged the people not to resort to violence emphasising that the country cannot afford to tarnish its image or cause more loss of people, property and economic value.

The joint appeal was made at a media briefing by Rev. Omalpe Sobhita Thero, Rev. Akuretiye Nanda Thero and Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.
