Research firm to monitor SL tourism global communication campaign

  • $ 1.4 m worth 5-year contract up for grabs; bids sought by 22 November

The Government is to select a specialist research firm to monitor the rollout and reach of the planned five-year Sri Lanka tourism Global Communication Campaign (GCC).  The Cabinet Appointed Consultants Procurement Committee Chairman has called for bid proposals from agencies to conduct Market Research and Campaign Monitoring to facilitate the GCC 2021-2025 on behalf of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB). 

The objective of the proposed integrated global marketing blitz is to promote Sri Lanka as a tourist destination and to achieve the national target of the sector. 

The maximum total contract value over the period of five years for the consultant of Market Research and Campaign Monitoring agency will be $ 1.4 million and funding will be through the SLTPB.  

The consultant has to work in coordination with the campaign development and Management Unit, eight Destination Management Companies (DMCs), eight Public Relations (PR) firms, Creative and Digital Agencies, which will be appointed by the SLTPB. 

As per Sri Lanka Tourism sources, international or local consultancy agencies with international network, should have a proven track record in handling 10 years of market research, with a minimum of three years’ experience in handling global accounts and at least one destination research experience. 

The consultant firm must also have experience of working in at least one of the regions — Europe, Middle East, US or Asia Pacific. All prospective bids must be submitted on or before 22 November. (CDeS)
