Resus Energy to raise Rs. 1.2 b via debenture issue

Renewable energy specialist Resus Energy PLC is to raise Rs. 1.2 billion via a listed debenture issue.

Its Board has resolved to issue up to 12 million listed, rated, unsecured, senior, redeemable debentures of Rs. 100 each. The move is subject to regulatory approvals.

It is the first debenture issue by Resus Energy, a renewable energy investment, development and operating company in Sri Lanka. The Group currently comprises of eight operational power plants in the regions of Kandy, Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya and Moneragala. In FY21, total capital deployed in the renewable energy sector by Resus was Rs. 3.9 billion.

In FY20/21, the company raised Rs. 626 million by way of an Initial Public offering. It also raised Rs. 1 billion in bank loans for Group capital restructuring.

Resus Energy is equally (32.5%) owned by Trydan Partners Ltd., and ACL Cables PLC.
