S.M.D. Suriyakumar was re-appointed as the President of the Lanka Confectionery Manufacturers Association (LCMA) during an emergency committee meeting held recently.

This decision was made by the Ex-Co committee following the resignation of CBL Foods former CEO Dr. Samitha Perera, from the Presidency.

Suriyakumar’s Presidency marks a continued era of dynamic leadership at LCMA. Under his guidance, LCMA managed to reach great heights, successfully lobbying for the much-needed amendments to the Food Act as well as renewing the wheat flour import licence, which subsided the raw material shortage.

He is a leading and outstanding professional with over 25 years of excellence in executive management. He has vast experience in managing the manufacturing, sales and marketing divisions in the fields of FMCG, automobile, medical care, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals.

Currently, Suriyakumar serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Maliban Bioventures Ltd., a subsidiary of the Maliban Group.

He is also the President of the Greater Mekong Council and the past President of the Chamber of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association – Oyamaduwa.

Suriyakumar’s extensive experience and strategic vision will continue to drive LCMA forward. We wish him all the best in reinforcing LCMA’s role as a pivotal force in the local food manufacturing industry.
