In a ground-breaking achievement for the Sri Lankan stockbroking industry, SC Securities Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Sampath Bank PLC, has become the first stockbroking company in Sri Lanka to obtain the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 certification (as confirmed by Sri Lanka Standards Institution) for its Quality Management System (QMS).

The certification was awarded last month at a simple ceremony, where Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) Director General Dr. Siddika Senaratna presented the certificate to the company’s leadership.

ISO 9001:2015 is recognised globally as a standard for quality management systems, helping organisations enhance their operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

For a stockbroking firm like SC Securities, this certification marks a significant milestone as it reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering superior services to its clients while maintaining high standards in operational accuracy, risk management, and data security.

With this certification, SC Securities has pioneered the implementation of a systematic and client-focused service model. By improving operational efficiency, minimising errors in trade handling, and enhancing customer support, the company is now able to offer its clients a more consistent and reliable service experience. The structured risk management approach embedded in ISO 9001:2015 allows SC Securities to anticipate and mitigate trading, compliance, and client management risks, further strengthening its operational foundation.

The Board of Directors of SC Securities, under the leadership of Chairman Sunil G. Wijesinha and CEO Roshantha Fernando, played a crucial role in guiding the company through this two-year certification process.

Fernando expressed his gratitude to all customers and stakeholders for their patience and support throughout the journey. He also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of his team, noting that the achievement was a result of collective enthusiasm and commitment to excellence.

This ISO certification not only enhances SC Securities’ reputation but also signals to clients, partners, and regulators that the company is dedicated to maintaining world-class standards in quality management. The company’s focus on continuous improvement, embedded in the ISO 9001:2015 framework, ensures that it remains a frontrunner in the stockbroking industry.

SC Securities’ achievement underscores the firm’s ambition to set new standards in the stockbroking industry in Sri Lanka.
