The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken steps to facilitate operators of digital platforms to offer its subscriber/member base investments in the share market via such digital platforms with the objective to broad base and widen the investor base in the Colombo Stock Exchange.

“By enabling such digital platforms, we envisage the awareness and educational levels of the general public on available investment opportunities on the stock market would widen, whilst enable any potential investor to seamlessly access the stock market for investment purposes,” SEC Chairman Viraj Dayaratne PC said.
