During the official visit of President Ranil Wickremesinghe to China last week, the two sides agreed on multiple issues.
Following is a quick list of the commitments.
- MoU on jointly accelerating the “Formulation of the Cooperation Plan on the Belt and Road Initiative”
- MoU for cooperation between the National Development and Reform Commission of China and the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilisation and National Policies of Sri Lanka
- MoU on Green and Low-Carbon Development
- Implementation Agreement of China-Aid Subsidised Housing Project (2,000 units) for Low Income Category at Colombo
- Protocol of Phytosanitary Requirements for “Export of Ceylon Cinnamon from Sri Lanka to China”
- Protocol on inspection, quarantine and veterinary sanitary requirements for “Wild Fishing Aquatic Products to be exported from Sri Lanka to China”
- Letter of Exchange of Feasibility Study on “China-Aid Project of Digital Transformation for the General Education in Sri Lanka”
- Tri-Partite Agreement on “Operation and Management of the China-Sri Lanka Joint Research and Demonstration Centre for Water Technology”
- Commencement of the construction of “Sri Lankan temple and stupa in the historic White Horse Temple, Henan, China”
- “Cooperation Framework Agreement” between the Port City Economic Commission, China Harbour Engineering Company, Browns Investments and Hunan Construction Investment Group “for the phase 2 development of the Colombo Port City project for $ 1.565 billion”.
