SL, Türkiye double taxation avoidance treaty comes into force

The Agreement between the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye on the Elimination of Double Taxation with respect to Taxes on Income and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance came into effect from 11 December 2023. This Agreement was signed on 28 January 2022 during the official visit of the then Foreign Minister of Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to Sri Lanka.

The Agreement came into effect in this manner after the completion of internal requirements of both countries.

As Sri Lanka and Türkiye celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations this year, coming into effect of this Agreement which would bring mutual benefits to the people of both countries, is yet another cornerstone in bilateral relations.
