Sri Lanka Tourism Chairperson Kimarli Fernando yesterday welcomed Qatar Airways decision to expand services to Colombo and expressed her gratitude to the top global airline for its continued support for the country’s revival.
Qatar Airways re-commenced its five daily frequencies to Colombo from last Friday.
“We truly appreciate the support extended by Qatar Airways to revive the tourism industry in Sri Lanka. Qatar Airways is now back to its pre-COVID frequency. Their current arrivals surpass over 1,400 on a daily basis with around 50% of its being tourists,” Fernando told the Daily FT.
