SL attracts nearly 40,000 tourists during first 12 days of Feb.

Sri Lanka has attracted over 39,621 tourists during the first 12 days of February, reinstating the confidence among industry for faster revival.

As per provisional data released by the Tourism Ministry yesterday, on an average 3,000 tourists have arrived per day during the first 12 days of this month, pushing the cumulative arrivals to 121,948.

On 12 February, Sri Lanka recorded the second highest tourist arrivals in a day with 4,677. 

The highest daily tourist arrivals were recorded on 25 December last year with 4,829.

Majority of the travellers that arrived last week were from European source markets and the Ministry believes it is a reflection of the aggressive promotions’ initiatives and air connectivity.
