• Appeals to all parties to use maximum control to stop hostilities, maintain peace, security and stability in region

The Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) yesterday said it was ‘deeply concerned’ about the recent escalation of violence in Ukraine, whilst calling for diplomacy and sincere dialogue to resolve the situation.

“Sri Lanka calls upon all parties concerned to exercise maximum restraint and work towards the immediate cessation of hostilities, in order to maintain peace, security and stability in the region,” the Foreign Ministry said.

“Sri Lanka emphasises the need for concerted efforts by all parties concerned to resolve the crisis through diplomacy and sincere dialogue,” it added.
