The country’s first agrophotovoltaic solar power plant has been commissioned where the land will be used for both power generation and agriculture simultaneously.
The capacity of the plant located in Vavunathivu, Eastern Province, is 10MW of solar power and is by Solar Universe Ltd., a joint venture between WindForce PLC, HiEnergy Services Ltd., and Vidullanka PLC.
Commercial operation of the plant will be done once the tariff adjustment to the PPA is signed.
