SLAITO welcomes new fuel distribution system; requests extension

Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tourism Operators (SLAITO) yesterday welcomed the new fuel distribution system adopted for the tourism sector.

“SLAITO members appreciate the new system initiated by SLTDA/SLTPB to obtain fuel for the tourists in the country at the moment via the SLTB and  Sri Lanka Army,” SLAITO said in a statement.

“Whilst thanking Tourism Minister Harin Fernando, authorities and staff of the Ministry and SLTDA/SLTPB, for this initiative, we request that it be extended until end of July or further if needed for smooth functioning of the industry which is bringing in valuable foreign exchange to the country,” SLAITO added.
