The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) made the decision to request the President to immediately to form a caretaker Government with the participation of all political parties in Parliament and to resolve the impending issues of fuel and power. 

SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera said that if this request is not met, the SLFP members will step down from all ministerial portfolios.
